Hi, my name is Tyler. My pronouns are they/them.
I have this sudden urge to make a blog about my experiences with some books.
About me:
- I'm 21 and a libra
- I'm part of the LGBTQA+ community
- specifically: agender, bisexual, demisexual, and demiromantic
- I'm a norse pagan witch who is still learning lots
- I am neurodivergent, disabled and generally mentally ill (adhd, asd, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, ptsd, among others)
- I have a wonderful boyfriend
I used to read books all the time as a kid. I didn't have very many friends and so reading was my comfort and escape. I befriended the characters in the worlds those pages unlocked for me. I used to fall asleep imagining attending Hogwarts with Harry, Ron and Hermione. I used to dream of having powers like those in Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers books.
Books helped me through a lot. When I was in middle school technology took over my world. Suddenly I had access to music all the time. Music replaced books as coping. When my life got really messy a few years ago I reread a few books I loved (Missing by Kelley Armstrong and How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather). I devoured them. Both being done within a few days.
Suddenly I remembered how much the places these books held meant to me and helped me cope. Now, after removing myself from the aforementioned messiness. I am coming back to reading - and it feels like coming back home.
This blog will be part diary, part book review, and part random but good quotes from the books I am currently reading.
If you made it this far, welcome friend. I hope you stay along for the ride.
Also the name of this blog is a sort of joke with myself and I'm sure fellow book lovers as I find books/reading highly addictive.
